ICALAA event

On 9 November 2017, the ICALAA organized a seminar on effective oral advocacy in international arbitration. This successful skills training was hosted by Frank Advokatbyrå in Stockholm and was attended by a diverse crowd of over 30 participants, including students and practitioners.

The panel was composed of Helena Dandenell, partner at Frank Advokatbyrå, and ICAL Alumni Crina Baltag (2006), senior lecturer at Bedfordshire University (UK), Gretta Walters (2011), associate at Chaffetz Lindsey (New York) and Brian Kotick (2012), associate at Mannheimer Swartling (Stockholm).

The panel shared their insights of "dos and don’ts" in oral advocacy at the different stages of an arbitration hearing. They also engaged a very lively debate - a fruitful exchange between the speakers and the participants closed the seminar on a high note.

The seminar was followed by a networking mingle, which provided a further opportunity for discussions and interactions the participants.
